Jaap Bouman (1971) has approximately 25 years of valuation experience and has been involved in over 300 valuation projects in a large number of sectors, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Jaap joined Wingman Business Valuation in 2013.
Prior to joining Wingman, Jaap worked for Mazars Berenschot Corporate Finance and Sman Business Value after starting his career as an auditor for EY. At Wingman, Jaap is responsible for providing comprehensive valuation services in connection with disputes, portfolio analyses, tax and financial reporting and restructuring. Jaap also has extensive experience in preparing fairness opinions for a broad range of clients.
Jaap’s primary focus is on valuation in disputes. Jaap is frequently appointed by the Dutch court (e.g. the Dutch Enterprise Chamber) to perform business valuations as an independent valuation expert. He has also conducted numerous dispute valuations as an expert representing one of the parties, and is called upon by the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) to assist in cases as valuation expert.
Jaap holds a degree in Business Economics from Groningen University and a postgraduate degree from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, allowing him to act as a Chartered Controller (CC). In addition, Jaap has obtained a postgraduate degree in Business Valuation from Rotterdam School of Management and has credentials as a Registered Valuator (RV). He is a member of the Dutch Institute of Registered Valuators (NIRV) and serves on the Disciplinary Board. Since 2010, Jaap has been registered as certified legal expert in the National Register of Legal Experts (LRGD) after completing a course at Leiden University.
